The Windpomp Run is a beautiful and exciting running event organised and hosted by the Graaff-Reinet Running Club.
There is a 21.1km Half Marathon, 10km and a 5km Fun Run. Parts of the run go through the Camdeboo Nature Reserve which encircles the town. The participants of the 21.1- & 10km are bussed/trucked up to the starting point at the crest of the Ouberg Pass, some 400m above the town.
The runners descend down the reasonably steep pass for approximately 6km, enjoying the magnificent views. The route then drops more gently from the bottom of the pass to the gates of the Camdeboo Park where runners will enjoy the rest of the race through the Park, entering town and finishing on Botanics Sport Field. This is truly a race where one's PB can be achieved, and certainly any runner will enjoy the breath taking vies, the game viewing while running in the park.
